FASHION REPORT-AMA 2012

Another amazing awards show was held on the 18th of November at the Nokia Theatre in L.A.. The American Music Awards was packed with  artists and we want to know what they were wearing! Let’s not forget about the winners of the night. Again, Justin Bieber was the highlight of the show by winning 3 awards. As for the performances, PSY performed his incredibly and mega-popular single, Gangnam Style. His signature dance is the new Macarena as many critics say and I am not surprised. EVERYONE knows the horse-riding dance move and the words ‘oppa gangnam style!’

But let’s talk about fashion! Many celebrities shined on the red carpet and we want to know who! Let’s see:

Carrie Underwood

10/10

My favorite outfit of the night. Everyone looks good in purple, but she totally rocks it. Maybe it’s the blond hair or the smokey eyes or the pale skin, she looks stunning in this Abed Mahfouz dress gown. Carrie was the best-dressed star of the night!

Taylor Swift

10/10

This time, Taylor chose to show her amazing long legs. This beige Zuhair Murad dress makes her look very glamorous and elegant. Very good choice to put her hair up in a ponytail because it emphasizes the dress even more. Remember, when you’re wearing a bold dress with a complex design, it’s always better to focus on other details, such as make-up and nails, than the hair, which should be like Taylor’s. But I personally would have chosen red lips instead of nude. Don’t you think so?

Kelly Rowland

10/10

Beige color looks even better when you have a darker skin. Just look at Kelly…this tribal short dress makes her shine! I would have preferred putting her her hair up in a bun or ponytail. But Kelly still looks great!

Lucy Hale

8/10

That’s how I would go to a school dance or prom. I’m not saying it’s a bad look, but I think Lucy tried to play safe with this outfit: black dress, red heels and silver accessories. It’s extremely average, she does not stand out at all. I mean, yes, less is more, but in this case, she doesn’t even look like a star. She is very beautiful though, no matter what she’s wearing! I gave her an 8 and not lower because it’s not bad, you can’t go wrong with it, but it’s not the best either. Tip: black dress and red shoes is the most common outfit anyone can wear! Make your look stand out from the mediocrity, especially when you’re attending an important event!

STOP BEING LATE!

It’s a well known fact that most women tend to spend A LOT of time to get ready…It doesn’t matter the occasion, they’ll always be late. And the other problem is that we don’t really know how to measure time (or we pretend not to); as for example, I’m sure you said more than once that you’ll be ready in 5 minutes or that you’re on your way even though it’s a big fat lie…you probably just got out of the shower or you’re contemplating what are you going to wear. Men don’t really understand how it’s possible for a human being to take an one hour bath or try every piece of item from your wardrobe till you decide which one is the best. Yeah, it’s quite a big dilemma between men and women. Men can be ready in even 10 minutes but for a woman it can take even the whole day. Why?

Well, the answer is that is fun. That’s what we like to do, it’s part of the whole night and we enjoy it. But sometimes it can be annoying. No one likes to wait for someone or to be lied, man or woman. So, let’s change that! 

I personally can be ready in 10 minutes if I’ll really want to or if I will be late for university. But, when I go out with my friends, it can take up to 2 hours…I am going to do a step-by-step of how can you be ready in time and also enjoy it!

Let’s say the party is at 10 and right now is 8:30. OMG, I’ll never make it in time! Oh trust me, you will!

STEP 1

First, take a shower. Not a bubble bath with scented candles and Budha Bar music in the background. Just a regular shower. You’ll smell good and be clean no matter what. Wash your hair with whatever products you want, but if you’re in a hurry, forget about the deep conditioner mask, it’s OK if you won’t use it once, no one will tell the difference.

This step should take no more than 15-20 minutes.

STEP 2

Start blow drying your hair. Yeah, it’s not the best solution, it can be quite damaging to your hair, but it’s fine! Stop worrying about all these details…they’re irrelevant. Just don’t blow dry your hair every single day 🙂

If your hair is curly and dry like mine, don’t start experimenting new hairstyles, it will take way too much time and probably end up wrong…Use some hair products in order to define your curls and to look more shiny (I use TRESemee Flawless Curls, it’s cheap and great) and you’re done! Finish it with some hairspray and you’ll look fierce!

If it’s straight or wavy, you’re a lucky girl! Again, blow dry it and use some products for volume and shine and that’s it. Or, if you want a hairdo, without spending too much time, make a high bun( or braid it and pull it up), use hairspray and then, before you leave the house, take it down and use again hairspray. It will create volume and some light curls. Your hair will look amazing and natural, without damaging it!

This step takes also max 15 minutes, maybe even 10 if your hair is short or straight.

STEP 3

Make-up time! This will probably take the longest time. But again, it depends on which kind of make-up you want to have. In my opinion, the best and easiest way is to keep the eyes simple, but use a bold lipstick instead. It’s quick and beautiful.

This step can take from 10 to 25 minutes. If you’re going to use only eyeliner and mascara/falsies on your eyes and red lips it should take no more than 10 minutes. If you want something more dramatic, such as sparkly smokey eyes, it will take longer (25 minutes probably) It also depends on how good you are at applying make-up.

STEP 4

Clothes! Stop wasting your time on deciding what outfit you’re going to wear! Most of the time, you’ll end up being depressed because you want more clothes or you need to lose weight or God knows what else…You can never go wrong with a black dress and everyone owns one. Add some accessories and the most expensive shoes you own and the result will be incredible! If you’re not the girly type, use the usual skinny jeans, a cool t-shirt, a blazer and a pair of high knee boots. There are so many easy options! Some people like to exaggerate with their outfits, but less is always more! You’ll look classy and fashionable.

No more than 10 minutes the outfit part should take!

And that’s it! In only one hour or maybe even less you can look flawless and you won’t have to text your friend with the same old lie, ‘I will be there in 5’. Good luck and have fun!

FASHION REPORT-EMA 2012

2012 MTV EMA’s was a couple of days ago and it was held in Frankfurt. Celebrities such as Heidi Klum, Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber attended and it was a night with amazing performances from The Killers, Taylor Swift, Fun. and many more. The biggest winners of the night were Taylor Swift (3 awards) and Justin Bieber (3 awards) but let’s not forget about the winner of the Best Video which was the Korean singer, PSY with his incredible catchy and fun single, GANGNAM STYLE!

On the red carpet, many celebs looked flawless, but some of them not so much…Let’s see who was the best/worst dressed star of the night!

Taylor Swift-10/10
Not only she owned the EMA, but she was also the best dressed star of the night! In this J. Mendel dress, Taylor looks like a modern princess!

Alicia Keys-9/10

Amazing dress, shoes and make-up, but I don’t really like Alicia’s new hairstyle, she looked so much better with long hair.

Rita Ora-10/10

It’s all about the colour RED! With this red Marchesa AW12 gown completed with her signature red lips, she rocked the red capet!

Lana del Rey-6/10

For a young woman like her, this outfit doesn’t suit her at all…But we still love Lana, no matter what she’s wearing!

Heidi Klum-7/10

This Versace dress is very interesting and beautiful (except for the one side sleeve, it’s way too much for one dress) , but I think it would have looked a lot better with different shoes.

Kim Kardashian-4/10

I usually like Kim’s fashion style, it’s very sexy but yet elegant, but this time it’s just wrong…all of it. I personally hate skirts/dresses which are short in the front and long in the back, it makes you look like a penguin, but this has to be the worst of all! Those feathers in the back look like an animal’s tail…The only item I like are probably the shoes. Maybe next time you’ll look better, Kim!

MILA KUNIS FASHION INSPIRATION

   Mila Kunis Stars in Miss Dior Fall 2012 Campaign

She was named the ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’ by Esquire magazine, she is one of the most popular actress right now, starring in movies such as Black Swan, Friends with Benefits and Ted and she is also an amazing trendsetter! She likes to change her style, but she always rocks it! From simple and casual to bold and elegant, Mila can pull of every outfit! Let’s have a look:

Chic at the airport! This casual looks great on anyone. This look is so easy to recreate and also quite affordable. Some skinny jeans, a plain t-shirt, a faux leather jacket (animal lover) and a pair of black high knee boots and you’re done! You can accessorize this look with a pair of big sunglasses and maybe with a boho hat and large hoops earrings. As for the make-up, keep it natural. Wearing falsies or red lipstick is not IN during daytime… H&M, Accessorize, Topshop are great stores where you can find plenty of similar clothes.

This outfit is even better because you can wear it almost everywhere! On a date, at a party or restaurant, you literally can’t go wrong! But, if you want to keep it simple, the make-up can be more sophisticated. Smokey eyes and nude lips will look perfect! As for the clothes, all you need is a plain black top, skinny jeans, a blazer (it doesn’t have to be black, try orange or turquoise) and some heels. That’s it girls and remember: less is more!

Sometimes, we all like to look just a little bit hippie…And nothing is wrong with that! Wearing a maxi dress and some flip-flops on a summer day is the perfect choice! As Mila, she wore a beautiful bright blue dress and added some elegance in her outfit by wearing a white blazer,  a maxi black bag and a gold thin belt…and of course, let’s not forget about the Ray-Ban sunglasses, a must have in the summer! And the result…Amazing, as always!

I have to admit…yellow doesn’t look good on everyone, especially on girls with fair skin, but this look is absolutely gorgeous! Mila’s outfit is all about this colour: yellow dress, yellow Louboutin heels and gold hoops! This outfit is ideal for a girl with a skin tone similar to Mila (or even darker) and a happy mood. And you will shine like the sun!
